A jednak się kręci - JohnIV pomimo pamięciożerności MAME 0.142, postanowił jednak opublikować swoją wersję MAMEUI (dawne mame32). Problemy może się pojawić na słabszych komputerach, mających mniej niż 1,5gb RAM, aplikacja może po prostu zawiesić system. Jakoś też nie chce mi się wierzyć, że faktycznie problem ten spędza komukolwiek w devach MAME/MESS sen z powiek;) MameUI: Od 0.141u4 Mame x86 z grzecznego 215mb RAMu zachłannie pożera prawie 6 razy więcej pamięci. 2011.04.04 2011.04.04 Warning: MameUI .142 is being released but it is still taking 1.2GB in memory when loaded, this is compared to 215MB of .141. The x86 version may crash out if used w/out sufficient resources. The DEVs continue to investigate.

Pojawienie się nowego MAME 0.142 i tak nie rozwiązuje problemu jaki praktycznie uniemożliwia korzystanie z MAME na słabszych konfiguracjach. JohnIV do momentu kiedy ekipa MESS/MAME nie usunie problemu nie będzie kompilował swojej wersji MAMEUi. 2011.04.03 MameUI .142 is on hold as the .exes are still taking 1.2GB in memory instead of 215MB due to handling of recent options changes in the core. The DEVs are still investigating. The .exe may actually crash on lower memory systems so I'm holding it back for now. It will take ~5 times longer to load if you do have the memory to handle it.

Wreszcie mamy pierwszy działający klon MAME 0.141u4 pod Windowsy, a jakoż, że udało mi się skompilować Mame PLUS + Kaillera to w najbliższym czasie ktoś wrzuci także zwykłe MAMEPlus, a i JohnIV powinien niedługo dokompilować MAMEUI. Ciekawostka, zawsze są jakieś problemy z kompilacją mame plus za to praktycznie nie ma ich w wypadku MAME Plus + Kaillera. Chwilę dłużej poczekamy na wersję MAME pod okienka, kompilowaną przez JohnaIV - jak pisze na MAMEWORLD, ostatnia wersja multiemulatora jest pamięciożerna (zajmuje ponad 2GB na start), więc aż do poprawienia błędu nie opublikuje binarek. Póki, co repo MAME śpi. 2011.03.27 MameUI .141.4 is on hold as changes to the core and subsequent fixes in the UI have introduced some big problems.

MameUI, czyli dawne MAME32, a jeszcze bardziej ściśle, MAME pod system Ms Windows bardzo szybko został zaktualizowany do najnowszej wersji 0.141u3. Pełna lista zmian tutaj.

Całkiem interesująca przeróbka Mame i Mame Plus, która powinna uprzyjemnić nam zabawę pod tym emulatorem - haczyki pozwalają na automatyczne dopasowanie próbkowania dźwięku i czy też poprawić wyświetlanie grafiki. Brzmi całkiem interesująco - aczkolwiek nie ma roży bez kolca, częstotliwość wywalania się emulatora może wzrosnąć. SoundSync With newer MAME versions there can be problems with stuttering sound if you use vsync or tripplebuffer. Thats because of the emulation gets slowed down and there aren't enough sound samples generated. SoundSync changes the playback rate of the soundbuffer based on the emulations speed. If Pac-Man runs with a speed of 98%, the soundbuffer playback gets slowed down to 98% also eliminating the stuttering.
