Most kids had friends at school, I had Elite on the Amstrad CPC 464. In hindsight it is much slower and more jerky than I remember, the original BBC Micro version however is the opposite, and is the best of the 8 bit versions in my opinion, especially the upgraded version for the BBC Master 128. I probably spent more time on the Commodore Amiga version when I upgraded to one in 1987, but I've still fond memories of this conversion. It should have been better I think, but apparently is was only a 'port' of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum version, as was often the case with CPC games, unfortunately. A bit like the PS3 and Xbox situation now.
