Most kids had friends at school, I had Elite on the Amstrad CPC 464. In hindsight it is much slower and more jerky than I remember, the original BBC Micro version however is the opposite, and is the best of the 8 bit versions in my opinion, especially the upgraded version for the BBC Master 128. I probably spent more time on the Commodore Amiga version when I upgraded to one in 1987, but I've still fond memories of this conversion. 2012 is a big anniversary year. 30 years since the first ZX Spectrum was made, 20 years since the last one, and 10 years since I started work on the documentary. It's got me thinking about finishing off the documentary properly - putting a new chapter at the start covering pre-1982, and a double chapter at the end covering post-1990 and post-1993.
