Voodoo 2 |
The 3dfx Chipset does *NOT* do 24 or 32bit rendering... AT ALL. This means that using Direct3D acceleration with these cards is only possible with 16bits!
* If you set your desktop to 24 or 32 bit and are trying to run bleem! in a window with 3D Hardware, it won't work.
* If you set your bleem! FullScreen settings to use a 24- or 32-bit resolution with 3D Hardware, it won't work.
PLEASE make sure that you set your desktop and FullScreen settings to use 16-bit if you are using a Voodoo card for 3D acceleration! For Voodoo 2 class hardware (not Banshee) it is suggested you run 800x600 or lower. Textures may become solid/black/gray or disappear when setting higher than 800x600. (This is due to VRAM)
For the VOODOO 2 it is suggested to use full screen set at 640x480.
Some Voodoo 2 drivers may require MANAGED TEXTURES to be turned ON. This varies with versions and brands. Using the reference drivers from 3dfx may increase performance. Some will also require shared textures to be disabled. ALSO NOTE : MANAGED TEXTURES option (under SETTINGS : GRAPHICS) is a "HACK" -- it is a CRAPPY HACK to fix bugs in DRIVERS that *we* have no control over. The next release will have a work-around for the MANAGED TEXTURES hack... Which means the slow down it causes will hopefully be eliminated.D3D Accelerated Windowed Mode : No.
