Although XEBRA can process physical discs directly, I assume the use of disc images here.
XEBRA supports "DISC" images, not "TRACK" images. Never divide! Never skip the gap! Never skip ECM! If you can not understand, use "CloneCD".
Double click on XEBRA.EXE.
Drop the main file (*.img, *.bin, *.iso, ... largest file). Never drop optional files (*.cue, *.ccd, *.sub, ...)!
If you feel it slow, blame the reality. That is the original speed. If you want to speed up, press F4 to cancel the sync process.

In the document of "Net Yaroze!", Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. calls the ROM of PS1's firmware "OS ROM". Are you calling PSP's or PS3's system software "BIOS"?
XEBRA contains a compatible OS ROM image, but if you already have an official OS ROM image, you should use it. Change the name of it to "OSROM" (no extension), and move it to XEBRA's folder before starting XEBRA.If the name of the game disc image is "C:/PSXISO/Ridge Racer.img", create a text file named "C:/PSXISO/Ridge Racer.ar" and enter the cheat code.
If the name of the game disc image is "C:/PSXISO/Ridge Racer.img", save the simulation image file as "C:/PSXISO/Ridge Racer.sim".
If the name of the game disc image is "C:/PSXISO/Ridge Racer.img", rename "XEBRA.ini" to "C:/PSXISO/Ridge Racer.ini".
Edit "XEBRA.LNG" file and move it to XEBRA's folder.
I have never seen a game that can not avoid freezes by adjusting the simulation settings. But that can not be handled with a bad head. There is no almighty setting. The most effective parameter in my experience is "I Cache Rate". It is too late to change it after freezing. Please change it before freezing.
