W latach osiemdziesiątych pojawił się na rynku francuskim komputer oparty na architekturze Z80, który przeszedł do historii nie przez swoje możliwości techniczne, ale... niesamowity wygląd pudełka i instrukcji obsługi zaprojektowanych specjalnie przez francuskiego ilustratora Moëbus'a.
Alice, gdyż tak nazywał się ten mikokomputer firmy MATRA HACHETTE, wyglądał jak zabawka dzięki czerwonej obudowie, której producent sukcesywnie się trzymał - począwszy od modelu z '83 roku (komputer miał tylko 12kb RAM! z czego tylko 4 były dostępne dla użytkownika), aż do 85 gdy pojawił się ostatni model tego mikrokomputera ALICE 32kb. Jak nie trudno się domyśleć, komputerek o bardzo ograniczonych możliwościach, który musiał konkurować z dużo bardziej rozwiniętymi konstrukcjami przepadł praktycznie bez wieści - nawet dodanie MICROSOFT BASIC nie mógł pomóc tej francuskiej zabawce.
Dzięki DALICE możemy znów ożywić ten stary mikokomputerek, jego autorem jest Daniel Coulom, ten sam, który w emulatorze DCMoto przypominał inną francuską konstrukcje - rodzinę komputerów THOMPSON, ze strony emulatora można także ściągnąć wspomnianą instrukcję, a w sieci można znaleźć także trochę oprogramowania dla tego mikrokomputerka (format .k7)
